About

What is Lexington Music about?

Killer Parties. Big Music. Getting Down. Ryan Phillips and Laurence Kain are the two dynamic halves that make up Lexington Music. Both have been involved heavily in clubbing and bar culture, their experience ranging from behind the bar and behind the decks here in Australia and in the UK.  Together they are Lexington Music and aim to provide all the ingredients so you can have a killer time, including creating unique events in iconic locations to beats from all around the globe.

Killer Parties.

2007 saw some of Canberra’s first major outdoor festivals, including Block Party, Foreshore & several club nights. Block Party 2007 managed by Lexington Music in association with trinity Bar, brought in over 1500 partiers, all packed into the trinity Bar carpark creating an urban street party unlike anything ever experienced in Canberra before. The good vibrations continued at Block Party 2008, with a diverse all-star lineup of international and local bands & DJ’s, trinty Bar car park certainly went off for a second year in a row. This unique event is a fundraiser for Oxfam International raising over $10,000 2 years in a row. Lexington Music in conjunction with Friction Event Management worked to bring you the sell-out Foreshore 2007, which was the largest outdoor music festival Canberra has ever seen. First release tickets sold out in under 48 hours, and completely sold out the month before the event. Combining the iconic location, stellar lineup & 7500 mud clad & sopping wet punters, Foreshore 2007 was a day to remember. Even the highest rainfall on Dec 1st in 22 years couldn’t kill the buzz…. Be sure to keep your eye out for Foreshore 2008 which will be bigger, better & hopefully dryer!!

Big Music.

Block Party 2007 played host to International Turntablists The Nextmen, as well as Australia wide talent such as Dexter, Koolism, the Autobots and Steve Lind. Foreshore 2007 saw the biggest line up ever to be brought to Canberra before, including the infamous Sneaky Sound System (live), Fedde Le Grand, Midnight Juggernauts, Kid Kenobi & MC Shureshock (live), Muscles & Switch (UK). The big beats continued in 2008 at Block Party 08, including the sounds of Katalyst Soundsystem feat RuCL & Leeroy Brown, Dirty Laundry (live), Malente (GER), Steve Lind & Casual Projects. Lexington Music brings you the biggest club nights, this year saw Zabeilia (UK), Krafty Kuts & Tittsworth (USA) to name a few. Look out for Sex on Substance (UK) playing at Lexington’s regular trinity Bar’s Sound Baked Sunday’s.  Keep your eyes and ears peeled in 2008, as Lexington will be bringing several more International acts right to your doorstep.
